Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work Requalification (RQF)

Our Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work Requalification is designed for learners who currently hold a valid First Aid at Work (FAW) certificate and need to renew their qualification before it expires.

This nationally recognised two-day course allows qualified workplace first aiders to update their knowledge, refresh their practical skills and maintain their status as a First Aider in the workplace. The qualification meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and ensures learners remain confident and competent when responding to workplace emergencies.

The course revisits key first aid principles and provides practical training in managing a wide range of injuries, illnesses and emergency situations.

To attend this course, learners must hold a valid First Aid at Work certificate that has not expired.

  • Manage fractures, sprains and strains
  • Recognise and respond to head and spinal injuries
  • Recognise and respond to chest injuries
  • Manage burns and scalds
  • Recognise and respond to seizures and epilepsy
  • Recognise and respond to asthma attacks
  • Recognise and respond to severe allergic reactions and anaphylaxis
  • Recognise and respond to diabetes-related emergencies
  • Identify the signs and symptoms of heart attack
  • Identify the signs and symptoms of stroke
  • Recognise and manage poisoning incidents
  • Recognise the effects of extreme heat and cold
  • Understand how to record and report accidents and incidents

Assessment and Certification

Assessment is carried out through continuous practical observation by the instructor throughout the course, alongside completion of the required qualification assessments.

Upon successful completion, learners will receive the Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work Requalification, an accredited qualification that is valid for three years.

To maintain confidence and competence, annual refresher training is strongly recommended. Learners must complete the requalification course before their certificate expires to maintain uninterrupted certification.
