As awareness of severe allergies continues to grow in educational settings, SEF First Aid Assistance is proud to support schools and organisations with specialist Allergy and Anaphylaxis Training designed to give staff the knowledge and confidence to respond effectively to allergic reactions and anaphylaxis emergencies.
The importance of allergy awareness in schools has been brought into sharper focus following the introduction of Benedict’s Law, which aims to improve allergy safety and protect children and young people at risk of severe allergic reactions. With increasing numbers of pupils living with food allergies and other allergens, it is essential that school staff understand how to recognise the signs and symptoms of an allergic reaction and know when and how to administer emergency medication such as adrenaline auto-injectors.
Over the past year, we have delivered Allergy and Anaphylaxis Training to a number of educational settings and organisations, including The Gleddings Preparatory School in Halifax and Rainbow Hub in Ormskirk. These sessions provide practical guidance on allergy management, emergency response procedures, the use of adrenaline auto-injectors, and the responsibilities of schools in supporting pupils with allergies.
We are also looking forward to delivering upcoming training sessions at Broughton High School in Preston and Brodetsky Primary School in Leeds, helping even more school staff develop the skills required to keep children safe.
Our Allergy and Anaphylaxis Training is suitable for schools, nurseries, colleges, youth organisations and workplaces, and can be delivered either on-site or at our dedicated training centre in Greetland, West Yorkshire. Courses are tailored to the needs of each organisation and focus on practical, real-world scenarios that build confidence and competence.
By ensuring staff are trained to recognise and respond to allergic reactions quickly and appropriately, schools can create a safer environment for pupils and provide reassurance to parents, carers and the wider school community.
